Although the internet started to take shape in the early 1990′s for the computer savvy crowd, often referred to as the smart kids, it’s use is still increasing by every age group. Up until recent years your only way to access the internet was from a computer connected to a cable. Of course most of us know that this is an issue of the past, today there a numerous devices that use the internet for communication and there are even more software programs that connect to the internet.
Of course you can still sit at your desk in your home office or at work and access the internet from your desktop computer plugged into a modem or an ether-net cable. One can also connect to the internet from a cable connected to a video game system in your house such as a Sony XBOX or a Nintendo Wii. Still other devices in your house connect to the internet through a cable such as a BlueRay DVD player. Through these devices you can play games with other people, download movies, or access more content connected to a movie you have just watched.
Now people have the option of wireless in the home. Most devices including personal computers, printers and other peripherals will connect to each other through a wireless network usually connected by a router. For most computer users of the internet, a laptop PC or an Ipad will allow you to surf the internet from the couch or anywhere else including the backyard. Access to social networking, shopping, research, and email has become something we can do in any place we like not limited to the home office desktop.
Further connections to the internet are phones. Whether you choose an Iphone or some other cellular device, most of them allow you to connect to the internet. Today, locations from which you can’t connect to the internet are becoming less and less.
